Please put your work at the TOP of the page. thanks!

Today mr stec lead chapel for all the students. He was having technical difficulties. He still did well despite his diffiuculties. Personally i have always thought Mr. Stec is a talented public speaker. He always seems to be exctied about what he is talking about. Normally Mr. Stec shows interesting videos or gives a visual for the audience. Mr. Stec usually speaks loud enough for all to hear he also starts off interestingly by telling a joke or something. Mr Stec had an okay chapel today, he has given better ones but none the less it was still interesting to listen to. He was excited, made good eye contact, and motioned with his hands.

"A and P"

I thought the story was a good story. The description of characters and the store gave a very vivid picture to put with the story. I also like the boy's mindset towards life at the end of the story. He realizes life is going to be hard for him, but he will continue to stand for whats right. He quit his job for the way his manager treated the girls, and there will be many instances in life like that. He knows its hard but is the type of person that wont put up with injustice.

"The Bride Comes to Yellow Sky"

I enjoyed the story. The beginnig was slow, but once it got more interesting as i learned of scratchy and Potter's little feud. Scratchy would try to get an exciting chase out of the sheriff Potter. Towards the end we learned that Scratchy would not kill Potter because he had a wife. I thought this was contrary to Scratchy who always wanted a chase and excitement. It was good not to kill Sheriff Potter because that would leave his wife alone. I thought it was a good ending to the story though.

Good work on wk. 1 - Glad to see you were able to dive right in after having to start a bit late. I enjoyed your insights on both stories.

"Charles"

I enjoyed the short story charles. It was an easy read with only a few pages. Throughout the story i questioned the validity of charles stories. I kind of had an idea it might have been Charles causing all the trouble. The ending was ending statement was funny rvealing there was no charles and the boy was actually causing all the trouble. I also enjoyed the parts in the story when The boy's parents started calling bad things that they did a charles. All in all it was a predictable story, but none the less a good read.

"Moustache"

THe story moustache was a longer story that took a while to get into. Some of the story was controversial to me. Should Mike have continued to lead his grandmother on or tell her he was just her grandson? In my personal opinion i think it was good that he went along with it. His grandmother had something on her chest for the past few years. It was good for her to finally admit that she was wrong and receive forgiveness. Also i think it was good for her to see mike even though she thought he was her husband. In my opinion old people must feel abandoned and alone in nursing homes. It was good for her to see a loved one even if he was not who she thought.

Good work on wiki 2! Especially liked your response to the Moustache.

"There Will come Soft Rains"

I enjoyed the short story there will come soft rains. The story reminded me of a mother taking care of the family. The house had breakfast ready, cleaned up after itself, and even read poetry for the people who formerly lived there to fall asleep. The story had an erie mood to it there was only one life form which was the dog that died from starvation shortly after his entrance into the story. It was very interesting at the end of the story that the house continued to follow its chores and tried to even clean up the ashes. Ray bradberry gave the house a personality which made the story all the more interesting.

"Sniper"

The sniper story was very intense. It was all about two enemie snipers waiting for the other person to make a fatal mistake. I liked the style of writing, it kept me interesting and questioning what was going to happen next. I also like the main characters idea to fake his death and kill the other sniper. The only part of the story i did not enjoy was the ending. It was a bombshell, the sniper had killed his own brother. I couldn't imagine the feelings the main character had after realizing he had killed his brother. I would never forgive myself if i realized i had killed my own brother.

Great job on wiki 3! I never considered how much more shocking that story would be to guys who REALLY HAVE brothers! Good point!

"Anteaous"

I enjoyed this story. It began with a boy named T.J. moving to a new town and joining a new group of kids who hang out on a roof. T.J. used to live in the country and misses working the land. He proposes the idea of hauling dirt up to the roof to start growing a crop. The boys decide they want to grow grass and a row of watermelons. I admired T.J.'s determination throughout the story. He kept the idea alive and on fire in his friends minds. The ending of the story was upsetting because the boys put so much work into the grass that they started growing. I think the owners of the building should have let them keep their grass growing there.

"DP"

This story was sad in the beginning. I felt bad for the boy Joe and the rest of the kids in the orphanage. Most of the kids did not know who or where there parents were. The boy Joe was always curious about his parents and asked one of the other boys, Peter, about them. Peter lied to him and told him that his mother dropped him off at the orphanage. Then one day when the kids were taking a walk Joe thought he saw his father. He sneaks off from the orphanage and goes to find his father and finds a group of soldiers. The soldiers are very kind to him and gave him many gifts such as chocolate, a watch, and a knife. I especially liked the ending of this story. One of the soldiers who Joe called Pa promised he would come back for Joe and take him home across the water.

"The New Kid"

I did not really like this story. I especially did not like Marty. Throughout the story Marty was made fun of and all he wanted to do was play baseball. The kids wont let him play because the teams will not be even. Marty found the new kid on the block and invited him to play baseball. The kids let Marty play and make fun of him when he misses a ball. The new kid does the same thing and Gets made fun of also. Instead of defending the new kid Marty encourages making fun of him and beats him up. I really did not like Marty. If i had been in Marty's place i would have stood up for the new kid because i would have understood what he was going through.

"One Friday Morning"

I thought this story was a sad story. The story was about an african american girl named Nancy Lee who was very talented at art. She painted an amazing picture that was entered into a contest for a scholarship into art schooling. She was informed that she had won the award and would be presented with it at an assembly on a friday. When friday came, Nancy was very excited. She was then informed she could receive the award because of her race. I think that is very unfair. In the constitution it clearly states all men were created equal. The ending was very sad and i felt bad for Nancy Lee. She seemed like a nice young girl.

wiki 5 - good work John. I am glad you didn't side against the new kid... some folks did and it made me sad!
